John Carl Ciechanowski
June 17, 1914 - February 06, 2009
John Carl Ciechanowski, 94, died Friday, February 6, 2009 in Savannah. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Ignatius John Ciechanowski and Frances Tafelski Ciechanowski. He lived in Savannah 42 years and was retired from Rheem Manufacturing. Mr. Ciechanowski was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and an avid bowler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Brzezinski Ciechanowski.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny J. and Jill Rutland Ciechanowski of Savannah; Arlen J. and Patti Ciechanowski of Polk City, IA; sister, Lorraine Conn of Savannah; grandchildren, Erin Ciechanowski of Savannah; Krissy Ciechanowski Williams and her husband, Dana of Savannah; Brad Ciechanowski of Savannah; Suzanne Ciechanowski of Waterloo, IA; Joey Ciechanowski of Alta, IA and their mother, Gigi Nelson; great granddaughter, Lily of Waterloo, IA; step-grandchildren, Erica Fischer and her husband, Darrin of Ames, IA; Justin Mack and his wife, Megan of Polk City, IA; and step-great grandchild, Madison of Ames, IA.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Rivers Edge Retirement Community and all of Mr. Ciechanowski's caregivers for their care and support during his illness.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with The Reverend Jeremiah McCarthy, Celebrant.
Burial: Catholic Cemetery.
